Dr Gerald Sacks Provides Pain Relief Before and After an Operation as an Anesthesiologist

Dr Gerald Sacks, MD, Pain Institute of Santa Monica, believe that opioid induced constipation can be a very difficult problem not only for patients, but also for health care professionals to discuss with the patient. According to him, everyone should be comfortable discussing the adverse effects of any medications prescribed. He considers it his responsibility to discuss and treat any adverse effects that may be caused by medication prescribed by him.

Being an anesthesiologist in Santa Monica, Dr Gerald received his medical degree from UMass Chan Medical School and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He provides pain relief during and after an operation, and treats acute and long-standing pain problems. He is affiliated with Olympia Medical Center and also specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Pain Medicine.

Dr Gerald Sacks received his medical degree from University of Massachusetts Medical School and has been in practice for 34 years. He has lectured nationally and internationally on pain management, and has served as an invited speaker at many CME and grand round presentations through the United States. Pertaining to his research interests, these include neuropathic pain, psychological pain, as psychological issues as they relate to pain perception and musculoskeletal, mechanical aspects of pain perception.

Describing a few unmet needs in the management of OIC, Dr Gerald Sacks aims at educating patients on the same. Once the patients are educated, there will be more awareness, and thus better treatment.
